- I was born in Oldenzaal and now live in Den Haag
- I first took on Informatics (nerd) and then Psychology (sociaal)
- My first computer was a BBC-B
- I am a civil servant since 28 years (but still not a real one)
- I work for the government to have a significant impact on society
- Since 2010 I am CIO at the Dutch "Ministry of Health Welfare and Sport" (and proud of it!)
- I am the proud father of two teenage daughters who fulltime live with me alone
- I speak too fast, get distracted too easily and jump all over the place (but try to change that)
- Together with a fantastic team we strive to improve ICT and information exchange to improve health(care)
- I engage in in sports not often enough, should go to the movies more often and see my friends not as often as I'd like (but trying to change that too!)
- I am old (according to my daughters)
